General Description

The General Manager Trainee (GMT) is a training position created to grow and develop a talent pool of General Managers for BFit Gyms. The GMT ensures that all functions of the gym provide the best customer service experience, team environment, and financial success. He/she will exhibit the ability to motivate, lead, and coordinate activities that engage Associates in growing our Fit Pass base. In doing so, the GMT recruits, hires, trains and develops a diverse, high performance team that delivers on company goals and reflects its values. This is an Exempt/Training position.


 Responsible for communicating and upholding company standards and creating a motivating and collaborative team environment.

 Ensure that all Associates enhance the culture of BFit by providing the best experience possible for Primary Account Holder's, Designated Users, Guests, and all other 3rd party vendors.

 Acts as the key point of accountability for gym financial performance and success.

 Models team expectations by interacting and observing customers / team Service Experts, checking the details of customer experiences, making recommendations and proactively solving problems.

 The GMT directly oversees the following positions inside the gym: All Service Experts, including Night Shift Leader.


 Executes gym forecasted sales goals on a monthly basis.

 Is the primary driver of leads, appointments, and Fit Pass Sales.

 Facilitates and monitors company-wide initiative/events such as First Friday/Last Sunday.

 Plans and promotes special events for the gym on a monthly basis, using corporate marketing and community recourses as needed.

 Is collaborative in his/her approach to grass roots marketing and community outreach.

 Delegates, monitors, evaluates, and provides feedback on specifically assigned sales tasks.

Staffing and Development

 Recruits, interviews, and hires all gym Associates.

 Provides consistent accountability for all Associates through training, coaching, and

conducting performance reviews.

 Conduct weekly (or as-needed) team huddles with Associates to review performance

and offer direction, motivation and guidance toward achieving individual and company


Job Requirements

 Bi-lingual strongly preferred (Spanish / English).

 2-3 years of progressive management experience supervising 3-10 employees.

 3-5 years of broad retail/hospitality/service industry experience.

 Experience in business-to-business sales/marketing or related fields.

 Knowledge of fitness industry is preferred, but not required.

 Entrepreneurial spirit with open, collaborative leadership style and drive for excellence.

 Strong work ethic, integrity, and professional demeanor.

 High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.

 Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

certification required.

 Must be able to travel and work at multiple locations.

Physical Requirements

 While performing the duties of this job, the GMT is regularly required to stand, walk, and

talk or hear. The GMT frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel

objects, or telephone. The GMT must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and

frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
