The Talent Development Manager facilitates the company's efforts to be a performance-driven culture by working closely with business leaders and HR partners to identify needs, and then create and implement strategies that promote the development of talent throughout the organization. This role designs, develops, implements, and monitors process and tools for company-wide programs such as performance management, development planning, leadership/executive development, talent reviews and succession planning.


  1. Performance Management and Talent Review Process Strategy and Implementation
  • Create Talent Development program infrastructure to support company roadmap and ensure organizational effectiveness, including business rhythms, process and procedures.

  • Partner with field and corporate leadership to design, develop, and implement programs such as performance management, leadership development, talent reviews, mentoring, and succession planning.

  • Manage the organization's Talent Review activities, ensuring that corporate and field leaders' development is thoughtfully considered and appropriate action is taken.

  • Manage Succession Planning activities in the organization to ensure business continuity.

  • Lead efforts to build strong bench of leadership talent at all levels, including identification and development of high potential team members from club to executive levels.

  • Partner and collaborate with field and corporate leadership to develop performance management strategies that support the accomplishment of strategic business objectives and provide meaningful feedback to all team members.

  • Develop and or modify/redesign plans, systems, tools, processes and procedures that maximize the efficiency, effectiveness, and impact of the Performance Management process while reinforcing behaviors necessary for the growth and development of team members. Processes include, but are not limited to: Goal Setting, annual Field and Corporate Performance Management Process (PMP) and Mid-Year Performance Check-in and Performance Improvement Plan design/tracking.

  • Identify and manage vendor relationships to ensure delivery and implementation of services that meet business needs in close partnership with the Talent Management Systems team.

  • Serve as a talent management Subject Matter Expert (SME) and resource for field and corporate leaders. Proactively stay current with industry trends to identify new and different ways of developing talent.


  1. Team Member Selection, Assessment and Development
  • Fully evaluate all current assessment and selection processes in partnership with Talent Acquisition -- from new hire front-line team members to regional vice president level -- and provide a recommendation and new tools/strategy as needed to ensure effectiveness of selection processes in predicting success.

  • Develop and/or identify programs to establish consistent leadership development in corporate and field, potentially including solutions such as 360-Degree feedback, mentoring or targeted development courses.

  • Manage efforts to select and groom future leaders through management identification programs, individual development planning practices, and trainee programs.

  • Plan and execute marketing and communication to educate team members on self-service resources.


  1. Organizational Development and Engagement
  • Lead change management effort for company projects and initiatives, including planning strategy and content development for team member communications.

  • Build strong internal relationships and work cross-functionally to measure the effectiveness of Talent Development programs. Create revised solutions based on leadership feedback.

  • Utilize Talent Development data to provide analysis and recommendations to senior leadership to enhance team member experience and improve business outcomes.

  • Manage organizational efforts to measure and positively influence team member engagement.

  • Lead company-wide engagement activities including: formal and informal feedback gathering, action planning and recognition.

  • Ability to collect, assimilate, and analyze data and present concise results.

  • Flexible and adaptable in fast-paced, ever-changing business environment.

  • Computer proficiency with advanced skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Talent Management, Organizational Development, Organizational Effectiveness or related field.

Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions

  • Must be able to work at a computer terminal for 8 hours a day.

  • Indoor office environment.

Travel Requirement

  • May need to travel by air on occasion (<10 days per year).
