JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Regional Pricing and Revenue Management, the Senior Analyst devises, implements, analyses, and adjusts pricing strategies in an effort to optimize price and maximize profitability. The role conduct analysis centered on yield management, elasticity, pricing optimization, new pricing strategies, and overall product performance within the company's membership and fitness product offerings. Additionally, this role closely with Finance, Operations, Marketing and leadership by actively leading statistical analyses including but not limited to simulations, regressions, scenario modeling, and profitability analysis to better understand results of pricing and operational programs. This role is primarily responsible for developing detailed financial analysis, assisting in executing and studying pricing strategies and tests, and helping lead the effort to build out our core pricing capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES Estimated % of Time Spent

  1. Support Category Management in Pricing Optimization
  • Work within Category Management team to support field operators on pricing initiatives and projects that drive profitability improvement including developing implementation plans, field communications, performance reporting, and results presentations for senior leadership on these initiatives and projects.

  • Analyze and report on pricing / profitability activities and programs within the department.

  • Work with multi-functional teams in evaluating strategic pricing opportunities.

  • Develop pricing recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative factors. Present analyses and make strategic recommendations to corporate and field leadership.

  • Provide guidance, development, and leadership to strategy and pricing analysts.

  • Conduct product rollout and field training sessions as needed. 40%

  1. Reporting & Analytics
  • Build and refine financial models that encompass financial metrics, economic inputs, consumer behavior, as well as club and market conditions to help drive overall profitability for the company's products.

  • Develop scenario and financial modeling to understand financial impact of various opportunities.

  • Research and collect statistical pricing information, produce pricing graphs, charts, spreadsheets and reports to recommend course of action to company managers.

  • Statistical analysis SME for all analysis related to pricing utilizing all available tools.

  • Summarize and present key findings to internal stakeholders to facilitate the development of new strategies and/or tactics to improve performance.

  • On occasion lead training sessions for other departments looking to strengthen analytical skillsets.

  • Ensure accurate preparation and distribution of daily, weekly, monthly reporting.

  • Complete other quantitative analyses as directed. 40%

  1. Category Management Projects
  • Identify/create projects aimed at increasing revenue or overall profitability.

  • Develop and explain project goals, objectives, plans and terms to project team and stakeholders.

  • Work with company leadership to ensure project alignment with business objectives; understand issues and creatively apply solutions to real-world issues.

  • Work closely with Category Management team members in MSC to confirm initiatives are fully vetted and the financial and IT impacts and benefits are captured.

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS

The Senior Analyst work closely with Regional Vice Presidents, Area Directors, and District Managers on a daily basis, including providing guidance and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team. Additionally, the role is responsible for providing guidance, training, and communication to various business unit owners through the organization both in the field and in the corporate office. This position has no direct reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Passion for problem solving: ability to tackle new and unfamiliar tactical and strategic problems.

  • Analytics: strong quantitative background, an intuitive grasp of data, and robust Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills. Well-versed in math and economics.

  • Collaboration: good leadership and teamwork qualities. Ability to engage and help, but willingness to stand ground when necessary.

  • Communication: ability to get the message across to individuals who don't have the same familiarity with data.

  • Energy & Initiative: ability to work independently and complete tasks. Willingness to work through difficult / complex situations.

  • Ownership: ability to drive a project from start to finish: create the framework, assemble the data, run an analysis, recommend a solution, develop a plan and then execute the plan.

  • Ability to solve practical problems in a timely manner while dealing with a level of ambiguity.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, and/or Decision Sciences / Statistics.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work experience in financial or pricing analyst role(s) with proven results.

  • Experience with interpreting data analysis and financial modeling results in driving actionable recommendations to Senior Management.
