The Human Resources Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing operational programs and processes to ensure effective implementation and execution. Works cross-functionally to create a great Team Member experience through effective strategic planning, communication, program and project management. Drives management and implementation of organization-wide Human Resources (HR) initiatives and projects that enables transformational change and align with the organization strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES Estimated % of Time Spent
- Human Resources Operations Program Management:
Create, manage and implement HR operations strategic initiatives, programs and processes to support and drive business results.
Manages HR operations function, including the design, development, implementation and maintenance of processes and procedures, to support the Human Resources department and organization (e.g. team member breakroom, trustline, SOP's, handbook).
Identify and research HR issues, contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; ensuring Human Resources objectives are in line with organizational objectives.
Document, review, recommend and manage changes, development and improvement of HR policies and procedures included in the team member handbook and policy center.
Drive continuous improvement and ensure core HR processes are effectively designed, documented and implemented for sustained and efficient execution; design and implement innovative solutions where applicable
Lead compliance and work with legal to ensure initiatives are implemented and have any needed ongoing maintenance plans in place as it relates to people, systems or processes to ensure sustainability for the ongoing success of the initiative or process change.
Facilitate internal HR audits to ensure compliance with applicable policies and practices.
Work collaboratively other HR teams to facilitate compliance training initiatives that ensure management is adequately trained and adept in implementing laws and regulations.
- Human Resource Department Project Management and Communications:
Identify, plan, organize and manage multiple, parallel projects and special initiatives.
Manage and contribute to the design, development and implementation of change and transformative initiatives.
Facilitate communication and collaboration across HR functions and business leaders to deliver results.
Supervise and lead HR team members in the project management execution and ongoing administrative support of HR operational projects and initiatives.
Lead project meetings to ensure progression and accountability of all team members and participate in strategy meetings to determine priorities and solutions for company --wide issues or initiatives.
Monitor progress against overall project plans and formulate weekly, monthly and/or quarterly status reports concerning such areas as work progress, budget, systems, timeline, and post-implementation results measurement.
Develop, coordinate and manage annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly planning processes to include HR project and initiative calendar across all functions.
Manages HR communications related to projects and initiatives across team.
- Human Resources Leadership Support:
Own preparation, facilitation and execution of HR leadership meetings to include approach, agenda, follow-up, communication and execution. Ensures the meeting objectives are realistic, preparation is appropriate and aligned to strategy/initiatives. Monitors progress and achievement of next steps.
Work cross-functionally with HR leaders to create Board presentations and meetings prep.
Plan Human Resources and company executive leadership events as needed. Coordinate with multiple functions to establish alignment and execution.
The Manager, HR Operations has regular and on-going interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders. This role will manage a Compliance team member. Internal stakeholders include, but are not limited to, all areas of HR including field leaders and other functional leaders (e.g. Legal, Procurement, Marketing, Information Technology, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of all human resources practices, methods and processes.
Knowledge of state, federal and legal regulations and requirements related to human resources including ERISA, EEO, ADA, Worker's Compensation, COBRA, Wage & Hour and others.
Demonstrated abilities in managing, planning, organizing, staffing and training, conflict resolution, negotiation, delegation, time management, team building, decisiveness, analyses, problem solving, and workload prioritization.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain working relationships at all levels of the organization.
Effective presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to effectively utilize Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated high level of integrity and the ability to deal with ambiguity with perseverance and resiliency.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Minimum Educational Level/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
6+ years of progressive experience in Human Resource positions.
1+ year of experience leading a team of HR professionals.
Experience managing large-scale organizational change projects and program rollouts.
Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions
Telephone usage to communicate with internal and external customers.
Sitting: frequent sedentary work.
Viewing computer monitor: average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare document, enter data into computer system, read reports and from computer monitor
Keyboarding: use of fingers to make small movements such as typing.
Work is performed in a normal business office environment.
Extended workdays may occur.
