The Studio Manager (Operations & Digital Tech) leads and is responsible for the day to day business and operations of the studio, the production calendar and post production process and supports the Sr. Director & Director of Photography and the Camera Operator/Cinematographer/Photographer across all production and post production needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Managing Studio Operations, Production & Post Production Process

  • Lead and manage the day to day operations and business needs for studio 24 including but not limited to budgeting, physical and creative assets management, and resources planning.

  • Use expertise to determine and direct complex production calendar for all studio productions and review studio/production time schedules and estimates. where needed. Schedule daily studio workload and manage work changes.

  • Use production expertise to lead business teams to schedule, coordinate, manage, and execute logistics shoots (arrange shooting crews and equipment, scout and negotiate sets, locations, create and set schedules).

  • Develop all processes and systems for tracking, usage and maintenance of all studio devices; computers, printers, scanners and digital cameras, etc. including management of supply inventories for studio.

  • Negotiate studio business terms and determine deliverables for business leaders and clients and oversee production, workflow and logistics production planning and process strategy from start to finish; from preproduction to production including file management.

  • Develop and implement all protocols and security for visitors, high profile clients and guests.

  • Setting and maintaining standards studio and deliver a clean professional and enjoyable studio environment and

  • Developing and implementing the systems and processes that ensure compliance with all facility and regulatory and legal requirements.

  • Attend and contribute to departmental meetings and other responsibilities as assigned.

Branded Video and Photography Studio, Lighting & Set Design

  • Use expertise to create and manage daily production deliverables and production shoot strategy.

  • Develop creative solutions set design, lighting, painting sweeps, organizing and managing the studio environment during the shoot.

  • Develop the logistics and schedule for the production shoot for the team and operate cameras and act as a camera engineer as needed.

  • Offer expert guidance and service for grip production on creative sets as needed.

  • Provide strategic gaffer expertise for photography and video shoots, provide expert guidance to design and set the lighting plan.

  • Offer digital tech and creative leadership for photography and video shoots, manage and troubleshoot cameras, audio and color correct during shoots including the log in and process images.

  • Manage maintenance and/or quality control of photography and DT equipment

  • Use experiential knowledge to lead signal and data management, file distribution, and quality control.

Post Production Strategy

  • Provide daily leadership to execute the technical creative needs and deliverables for each project.

  • Create high-quality digital branded content and creative assets across a spectrum of digital, video and social media with short deadlines, and on budget.

  • Manage on-screen color correction and image editing.

  • Create videos within the timelines and brand standards.

  • Use creative expertise to source music tracks for assigned projects and manage audio library.

  • Develop enterprise archiving and filing systems and reinforce file management, naming conventions, digital asset management, naming conventions, produce and maintain digital archives.

  • Review and deliver all production files for final distribution and post.

Directing & Leading Video and Photography Shoots

  • Supervise production and/or freelance technicians and artists in the creation of video, photography and audio productions work.

  • Offer expert technical guidance to create a cohesive and compelling digital brand experience.

  • Lead production and post production teams during in studio and on location shoots.

  • Identify content needs/signature looks for each new production series, franchise or tent poles, and guide creative vision for segments and stories: while working closely with brand, media, and content leadership.

  • Maintain company communication and brand objectives through entire digital, experience and creative assets.

  • Offer expertise and creative insights to the content team to develop, produce, and edit original video content optimized for the 24HF brands digital and mobile platforms, editorial and social channels and attend and contribute to departmental meetings and presentations.

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS

T his position leads the studio production experience and works with other production team members, designers, copyrighters, leaders and vendors throughout the creative/production process to maintain studio operations and production execution with the highest level of professionalism, organization, innovation, creativity and brand alignment. The position will serve as the lead for key studio business and production efforts, and will be directly responsible in delivering various solutions on time and on budget. Interacts with the production team and the post production vendors and end users to provide digital files and ensure creative jobs are completed accurately and timely. Must work in cooperation with all team members and be involved in strategy as well as design/production. S/he will support the Sr. Director of Production & Photography to manage a growing team of post-production technicians, 3D Artists, and Designers, as well as contract employees. This person will play a major role in the management and execution of studio business deliverables across multiple projects for digital, print and cross functional use.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Overall Business proficiency SW (e.g. MS-Office Suite, drop box, calendar and project management systems)

  • Apple Mac and PC equipment and operating systems.

  • Hands-on experience working with a team and production staff on a day-to-day basis.

  • Post Production including Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, VFX Editor.

  • Thorough knowledge of digital platform formats and distribution and file and media asset management.

  • Design execution for stage lighting, theatrical sets, stage management.

  • Proficiency as a digital technician including camera operations.

  • Expertise in studio and on location production Grip and Gaffer work.

  • Must be proactive, able to perform well under pressure, and nimble--able to problem solve and provide alternative solutions as changes arise during production, while still adhering to timeline, scope and budget constraints.

  • Advanced skills with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.

High School Diploma or GED

  • 2+ years working as a photographer's assistant, digital tech, grip or gaffer.

  • 1 + video editing at a production studio, agency, production company, or similar environment.

  • 3+ years of production experience with roles of increasing responsibility at a studio or creative agency.

  • 2+ Experience supporting or running operations in a successful studio (video, photography, broadcast, short video content and audio) Minimum of 2 years' experience with File Management.
