JOB SUMMARY

This position will report to the Director of Accounting and is a senior level Accounting and Information Technology professional. The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization from a systems and reporting perspective related to the cash reconciliation process, including ReconNet, Mi9 and Oracle systems. This position demonstrates a thorough knowledge of system set-up, configuration, query and report development. The Senior Financial Systems Analyst supports the Finance department by troubleshooting system issues, completing weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting, researching cash variances and communicating with the Clubs and Loss Prevention.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES Estimated % of Time Spent

  1. System Support
  • Perform general support for the ReconNet system.

  • Troubleshoot system issues and communicates unresolved issues to management and the Information Technology department.

  • Conduct system testing for all new implementations and modifications.

  • Initiate new club setups with all the financial institutions and ReconNet, including new merchant IDs and bank sub-account numbers.

  • Ensure all bank and Point-of-Sale files are loaded into ReconNet on a daily basis.

  • Ensure that all credit card files are received correctly by the payment gateway and credit card processor.

  • Confirm the daily auto reconciliation process has been completed and manually reconcile receipts that exceed the system threshold.

  • Update and create documentation as new procedures are implemented.

  • Keep a best practice set-up in mind and present the pros and cons of change requests to leadership so that informed decisions are made.

  • Propose innovative solutions to keep the systems efficient and functioning with the highest integrity.

  • Evaluate processes critically and identify opportunities to streamline work. 50%

  1. Reporting
  • Create, modify and troubleshoot ReconNet reports and queries as needed by management and staff.

  • Report all cash variances to the Loss Prevention team on a semi-monthly basis; support any detailed follow up requests.

  • Develop weekly credit card and cash variance KPI reports to be reviewed with management; research and resolve any variances that exceed the established tolerance levels.

  • Report daily cash and credit card variances to the Clubs; support any critical issues identified by the Clubs.

  • Send out Method of Payment reports to the Accounting department to support the bank reconciliation process.

  • Order new club supplies as required for the daily banking procedures. 30%

  1. Quality Control
  • Ensure that all cash reports, journal entry extracts and queries used by Accounting, Loss Prevention and the Clubs are reviewed or sampled for accuracy.

  • Ensure all automatic cash reconciliations and email notifications are being processed correctly with no delays.

  • Provide in-depth training for new ReconNet users.

The Senior Financial Systems Analyst regularly interacts with senior levels of management, all levels of accounting professionals, processing groups and the IT Department. This position frequently interacts with outside banking representatives. This position has no direct reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of financial systems, specifically ReconNet.

  • Knowledge of query and report writing.

  • Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Ability to use queries to answer questions and troubleshoot problems.

  • Demonstrate responsiveness to team needs, especially during peak volume processing times.

  • Ability to follow through on outstanding issues in a timely manner to final resolution while keeping manager updated on the status.

  • Keep manager informed of any potential production issues as they develop.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Treasury related field.

  • Experience with large finance enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions

  • Must work on a computer for extended periods of time.

  • Normal day to day business operations including using a keyboard, walking, bending and reaching.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
