The Communications Specialist is responsible for the execution of a variety of internal communications delivered to our field organization in support of executing our strategic direction and annual operating plan. In this role, the communications specialist will work in alignment with the company's brand image and contribute to the design and development of the MY24 department pages. This position is responsible for acting as the gatekeeper of communications to the field, managing and supporting our business partners with the utilization of the proper communication channels, and controlling the pacing and sequencing of communciations to the field to prevent over-load.


Estimated % of Time Spent

Field Communications

  • Act as the gatekeeper for all communications designated for the field teams

  • Approve/Deny/Make recommended edits for all task driven communications delivered through CORE Task Manager

  • Consolidate the weekly projects submitted in CORE Task Manager and distribute CORE Summary on a weekly cadence to appropriate business partners

  • Monitor and Control the Field Communications in-box. Ensure all field communications are being distributed through this channel (with a few exceptions)

  • Develop the monthly Game Plan in partnership with key business partnerships and distribute to the field

  • Support the Director, Operations and SVP, Club Operations with design and communications of field contests. Provide reporting and contest standings as needed.


Content Management

  • Manage daily content on My24, the company intranet, including periodic review of site structure and content for representation of the company purpose, alignment with strategic direction and business goals. Evolve the intranet's structure, functionality and look and feel to ensure its effectiveness as a business resource and intuitive communications tool.

  • Design, develop and deploy business-specific pages on the intranet that are aligned with brand image, strategy and direction.

  • Maintain SIMON standard operating policy platform including updated to policies as needed

  • Participate in strategic communication planning.


SVP Club Operations Communication Support

  • Provide messaging support for the SVP Club Operations

  • Draft field messaging in-line with SVP Club Operations voice and intent

  • Provide meeting support including but limited to; collection and distribution of meeting agenda and materials, consolidation and distribution of data and reports

  • Ad-Hoc basic level reporting as requested by the SVP, Club Operations

  • Coordinate scheduling of Field Leadership Calls

  • Coordinate and support Field Boot Camps / Trainings





Interact and communicate with all levels of team members: club level, corporate staff and senior leadership. The Communications Specialist needs to form good internal business relationships with all functional areas. This role is a central Club Operations department point of contact for certain types of information, and must know when it is appropriate to escalate issues to the Manager, Director or Vice President. This role reports to the Director, Club Operations and has no direct reports.

  • Experienced communicator with excellent interpersonal, writing and listening skills. Proven leadership in developing and maintaining effective relationships with all levels within and outside of organization. Strong collaboration skills.

  • Strong relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated professional maturity, including the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and a comfort level coaching senior leadership on communications topics and techniques.

  • Must be technologically savvy and interested in the application of technology to improve business results.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (expert level with Word and PowerPoint).

  • Experience with technology currently deployed: Rhythmyx (intranet) or similar tool preferred.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.

  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task with ease.

  • Outstanding organizational skills.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in English, Journalism, or Communications.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to exercise judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes.

  • Act as the main internal communications partner for internal client groups.

  • 4-6 years of internal communications, journalism, public relations, agency, marketing communications or human resources experience desired.

  • Proven writing and editing experience.

  • Passion for writing strongly desired.

  • Club experience a plus.

  • Working knowledge of Associated Press style.

  • Standard office environment noise.

Travel Requirement

  • Availability to travel 10% of the time.
