The Director Media Technologies oversees the planning, scheduling and coordination of activities related to the successful cross-functional implementation of Marketing and Digital Media platforms, channels and data systems (the "Projects"). The goal of this position is to ensure assigned Projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality. This position is responsible for gathering all information to determine the full scope and valuation of the Project(s), delivering action items according to the issued timelines and ensuring that all Projects and related processes are 100% operational for business production. In addition, this position is required to coordinate tasks across departments as appropriate, including marketing, IT, legal, club operations, member services and human resources. Specifically, close working relationships with legal and IT are necessary to ensure legally compliant and technically sound outcomes. Responsible for delivering quality outcomes on all aspects of the Projects managed, which may include small to large scale, simple & complex implementations.


Project Management

  • Serve as a key advisor and project manager of assigned Projects and oversee execution of related deliverables for the technologies and operation processes.

  • Work with and manage relationships with external vendors to determine, develop, build, and integrate technologies and platforms, including MarTech platforms (e.g., Adobe), loyalty programs, (e.g., CrowdTwist), data platforms (e.g., Epsilon), CRM platforms (e.g., Dynamics), location-based media platforms (e.g., HYP3R), in-club digital media networks (e.g., ClubCom, Wexer), data onboarding platforms (e.g., Throttle), and the cross-platform integration of 24GO.

  • Identify, plan, organize and manage multiple, parallel projects using formal project planning techniques to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Develop and proactively manage project plans, including objective, scope, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, issues management, and advise on allocation of resources. Create contingency plans with input from appropriate key stakeholders, if applicable.

  • Manage cross-functional teams in developing and implementing strategic roadmaps, and manage key engagement research, and facilitate workshops.

  • Escalate all concerns and issues related to any Project to appropriate stakeholders and upline reports, including but not limited to issues related to time delays, budget overruns and qualitative concerns.

  • Summarize the completion of each Project with a detailed report (i) identifying whether the Project was completed on time, stayed within budget and achieved the intended objectives; and (ii) the challenges, opportunities and successes encountered with the Project; (iii) recognition and assessment of teams and individuals contributing to the Project; and (iv) insights and learning that we can use to improve future Projects.

  • Once a Project is completed and operational, the ongoing tracking and measurement of defined performance metrics to determine whether the Project achieved it's intended business and/or consumer experience goals.


Evaluation, Prioritization and Specifications of Projects

  • Understand the overriding business needs and objectives in order to create strategic direction and provide 360 perspectives on each Project with a clear understanding of what is needed for the evaluation, specifications, resources, implementation, delivery and support of each Project.

  • Responsible for the ROI evaluation of each Project after determining the estimated cost savings and/or revenue enhancements of the Project offset by the full development costs and ongoing operating costs associated with the Project.

  • Prioritization of each Project relative to competing projects and activities after taking into account the overall ROI of the Project, the cost and development time of the Project and the overall availability of necessary resources.

  • Development of clear specifications, timelines and refinement of business requirements of each Projects based upon the input of internal business owners and the needs of consumers (as determined through appropriate consumer research when applicable).

  • Provide operational leadership to ensure resources are allocated and directed appropriately to accomplish Projects within allocated budgets and timelines.

  • Manage and negotiate ongoing vendor services and support service level agreements. 50%

The Director of Media Technologies must interact and communicate with all levels of team members as well as consumers in a courteous and professional manner in order to achieve the intended goals and objectives of the Projects assigned. This position must form good internal business relationships with all functional areas and is a central point of contact for each Project.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Business or Information Systems. Bachelor's degree.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 12+ years of IT or business/industry work experience, with at least 10 years of leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-function teams and projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
