Reporting to the IT Manager, this position is responsible for implementing and supporting information technology solutions for Dynamics 365. The Business Systems Analyst works directly with all levels of business partners, as well as vendors, to understand business needs and opportunities, and partners with them, as well as with internal Information Technology Teams to design, and implement solutions. The Business Systems Analyst is also expected to assume a leadership position in mentoring less experienced Business Systems Analysts.


  1. Business and Process Engineering
  • Understand, document, and influence business processes, activities, roles/responsibilities, and data within assigned areas of the business.

  • Identify and define business needs and opportunities in partnership with business and vendors.

  • Exercise critical decision-making regarding business priorities.

  • Define and manage scope of projects.

  • Perform fit gap analysis on proposed solutions.

  • Design business process solutions in collaboration with business partners and development team.

  • Demonstrate advanced problem solving skills in troubleshooting and identifying the root causes of business issues.

  • Lead the analysis, development and prioritization of business improvement opportunities which drive increased business value.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned areas of the organization.

  • Manage application roadmaps to support business and technical strategies.

  • Develop and maintain operational standards used by the Business Systems Analyst teams to support the software development life cycle.


  1. Solutions and Technology
  • Serve as a Product Owner for maintenance efforts and small to medium projects, managing relationships with stakeholders, owning and managing the product backlog, developing product roadmap and release plans, and guiding scrum teams.

  • Define the solutions to business problems jointly with business partners and development teams

  • Analyze and document root cause of defects or production issues and coordinates the implementation of appropriate technology solutions.

  • Analyze potential third party solutions and assists with presentation materials to help drive consensus amongst various implementation options.

  • Develop and own functional requirements for solutions.

  • Employ value metrics and analysis to properly prioritize and ensure timely delivery of solutions as the business requires.

  • Evaluate solutions after reviewing technology requirements in collaboration with infrastructure and operation teams.

  • Provide analytical support for projects, support tasks and enhancements of supported applications.

  • Oversee and perform functional and regression quality assurance testing for applications.

  • Approve test plans and test scripts, coordinate testing prerequisites and report on results.

  1. Leadership
  • Train and mentor new Business Systems Analysts and Associate Business Systems Analysts on duties, skill sets, and professional conduct.

  • Cultivate working relationships at all levels of the organization, including the Senior Vice President level.

  • Stay informed on projects, releases, and events that may impact business activities and Information Technology roadmaps.

  • Resolve issues at the lowest possible level and escalates when appropriate.

  • Keep management informed and up to date on status, events and other critical information.

  • Ensure transparency of action and status with management and stakeholders. 10%

Reports to the Information Technology Manager and interacts with all management levels of the organization and stakeholders. Interacts with third party vendors. Has frequently communication with other Business Analysts including Associate Analysts. This position has no direct report.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of sound software development lifecycle methodology.

  • Process flow development, analysis, and reengineering skills.

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office suite of products, including Visio.

  • Excellent problem solving and logical analysis skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt message to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Negotiation skills with both internal and external partners.

  • Ability to create and cultivate a network of partners to ensure success of the organization is critical.

  • SQL query skills.

  • Capable of working and thriving in a fast-paced, integrated team environment.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 2+ years' relevant experience as an analyst for applications development, systems engineering, process engineering, and/or relevant business experience.

  • Demonstrated expertise at business process and data analysis.

Educational Level/Certifications

  • Degree in a science or math discipline, Computer Science, Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.

Work Experience and Qualification

  • Experience in a business function or operational unit outside of Information Technology.

  • Packaged software implementation experience.

  • Experience with CRM technologies, Dynamics 365 highly preferred

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
