The primary purpose of this position is to provide engineering and production support for all enterprise linux systems and applications. This involves working with cross-functional project teams, software, and infrastructure engineering teams to deploy and support new Java container systems utilizing various open-source and vendor provided technology solutions. This team member is expected to design standards and then codify those standards for systems and infrastructure provisioning, integration and configuration.


  1. Governance
  • Production support for all linux and java applications

  • Work with various engineering teams to provide advanced troubleshooting for complex high availability enterprise linux systems

  • Support continuous integration/delivery, test automation and application performance monitoring

  • Maintain systems documentation to include enterprise systems guides, work flow, entity and state diagrams

  • Develop and enforce standards and best practices 70

  1. Engineering
  • Develop automated solutions and tools to support the business and IT staff

  • Engineer and automate management of distributed web systems utilizing multiple open source and vendor solutions

  • Manage automation systems, including software deployment, release management, SDLC management and product development life cycles.

o Integrate distributed web applications that use various technology stacks and application languages using multiple SOA platforms. 20

Knowledge of linux and windows operating systems

Programming experience

Experience with Enterprise IT standards and practices (ITIL, Change/Problem/Incident management)

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

1+ years of Unix systems engineering

1+ years of J2EE systems engineering

1+ years in progressive IT support organizations

Basic scripting knowledge (VB, Bash, Ruby, Perl or equivalent)

Experience with n-tier distributed architectures

Experience with complex web services based framework architectures

Knowledge of networking concepts (layers 1-7)
