24 Hour Fitness, INC. Senior Recruiter (Remote) in California

FULL-TIME Full-time



The Senior Recruiter partners with and consults corporate and field management on all aspects of the staffing process for assigned areas of the business. As an integral part of the Talent Acquisition Team, this position will source and screen passive candidates, review applicants, and coach hiring managers on staffing best practices while building and leveraging talent networks to generate leads. Additionally, this role help drive recruitment programs that allow 24 Hour Fitness to hire a highly skilled and diverse workforce.


  1. Applicant Lead Generation
  • Analyze each demographic market area and determine applicant lead needs.

  • Work with hiring managers to develop a recruitment plan.

  • Screen applications, make recommendations and efficiently fill open positions.

  • Manage and maintain diversity strategy to attract a diverse workforce to the company.

  • Effectively build talent communities through various channels: Social Media, Internet, Blogs.

  • Proactively research and evaluate new sourcing and research ideas and methods to create innovative sourcing strategies.

  1. Management Staffing Process
  • Partner with hiring managers to determine budget impact and business scope. Determine source utilization and payoff /Return of Investment (ROI).

  • Interface and provide recruiting support and consultation to hiring groups in driving recruiting strategy as a full life cycle Talent Acquisition Partner.

  • Assist with assessment of needs to recruit management trainees by providing input in development of Succession Plan.

  • Work with hiring managers to ensure candidates are on-boarded and trained appropriately.

  • Consult and coach hiring managers on candidate management, assessment and selection processes

  • Compose company announcement e-mail for all external new hires for district level and above positions as well as internal promotion to district level and above for division.

  • Monitor and assist general managers, district managers and above with ADP Recruiting Management applicant tool (Applicant Tracking System).

  • Manage relations across businesses and Talent Acquisition teams, establish ongoing relationships with hiring managers in order to understand their business and recruitment needs and fill their open positions in a timely manner.

  • Drive operational excellence and compliance and set high recruitment standards.

  • Develop influential relationships with client groups, ensuring that recruitment is integrated into the business unit.

  1. Training and Consulting
  • Provide coaching on applicant sourcing and recruiting, behavioral-based interviewing, selection and on-boarding to district level and above management positions.

  • Provide current data on headcount, turnover, and market research as needed.

  • Support and coach hiring managers with the role out of all new staffing related programs and processes.

  1. Miscellaneous
  • Track, analyze and regularly review existing systems, processes, reporting and training related to recruiting to ensure effectiveness, accuracy and efficiency.

  • Provide feedback on staffing competency of candidate pool, design interview questions around competencies for position, and participate in interview selection process.

  • Provide feedback to hiring managers regarding applicant availability, local market conditions, competitor and candidate feedback on pay and benefit packages.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven experience utilizing Boolean Logic searches, cold calling, leveraging user/interest groups and various other creative sourcing strategies to identify passive candidates.

  • Ability to create interest and excitement about the opportunity with candidates during the interview process.

  • Strong knowledge of applicant tracking systems and sourcing channels.

  • Strong technical skills, strategic thinking and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt communication message and style to audience.

  • Working knowledge of Federal, State and local labor laws.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to effectively integrate recruiting into the business' ability to achieve results.

  • Proficient software skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.

  • Direct sourcing and creative candidate generation abilities as well as strategy development.

  • Proven ability to influence and partner with clients, customers and partners across different levels and backgrounds.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Recruiting, Human Resources or staffing function.

  • Experience managing large projects from start to finish.

Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions

  • May be required to work at a computer or on the phone for extended periods.

  • Extended workdays may be required on occasion.

Travel Requirement

  • Occasional travel may be required.
