Reporting to the VP Operations, the Sr. Director Strategic Operations will be responsible for the establishing strategy and organizational direction in collaboration with senior leadership. Identifies, influences and negotiates with internal and external partners to deliver 24 Hour Fitness's strategic objectives. Leads cross-function teams to ensure successful delivery, implementation and execution of company strategic projects impacting the field. This role will participate in progressing strategy into executable programs, leveraging an extensive knowledge of field day to day operations and processes, as well as a strong organizational knowledge. Success in this role will require the ability to collaborate cross functionally within the organization and represent the field business owners as a subject matter expert. The Sr. Director Strategic Operations will provide support to all members of the operations team in capacities not limited to: subject matter expertise, strategy development, field communication, process improvement and definition, and improving execution


Club Support and Execution

  • Work with key senior executives and operations leadership to understand and support strategic priorities for the field group, and analyze business problems to develop insights into root causes and improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure organization goals/strategies impacting the field can be implemented and executed at a high level.

  • Support club and field leadership by developing the club team, including club visits, training and effective communication.

  • Recommend operational efficiencies to improve execution and expense control based on expertise, field feedback and results.

  • Document the existing processes and areas of improvement.

  • Provide direct support for all new club openings.

  • Execute department initiatives to maximize profit 50%

Strategic Operations

  • Provide input and perspective on field strategy and tactics.

  • Communicate new information pertaining to programs, systems, and promotions through all channels i.e. e-mail, CORE, My24, and SIMON (internal website pages).

  • Develop materials for all program or system rollouts. Facilitate workshops to support the training required for these rollouts.

  • Provide counsel and support around club risk and compliance execution. This includes legal compliance with both State and Federal laws. 50%

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field preferred.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Operations management.

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, or operating a club facility in a general manager level role

  • 2+ years of experience in a multi-unit field management role

Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions

  • Some work is performed in a standard office environment without unpleasant or hazardous conditions. Work entails typical physical demands involved in office work.

  • Regularly required to work standard office equipment (personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).

  • Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.

  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk

Travel Requirement

  • Travel to clubs and regional offices, up to 60% of the time.
