The Project Manager plans, defines work breakdown, coordinates stakeholders, prioritizes, budgets, and delivers, activities and initiatives associated with process, policy, and procedures impacting fitness operations and strategy within the clubs. Participate in the conceptual development of a project and manage its organization, scheduling, communication and implementation. Responsible for delivering quality outcomes on all aspects of the project or program managed. This role supports the clubs based on field priorities and assists in the development and implementation of solutions to fulfill business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

  1. Project Management

Identify, plan, organize and manage multiple, parallel projects using formal project planning techniques to successfully help Fitness and Innovation team launch new programs regionally as well as nationally.

Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and program specifications. Confer with leadership to discuss such matters as work procedures, resources, requirements, and timeline.

Initiate and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders and other contacts to facilitate project activities and achieve objectives.

Monitor and control project through coordination of the project team to ensure project is completed per the plan specifications, on schedule and within budget.

Identify, investigate, and communicate recommended solutions to potential project risks.

Work with leadership to manage financial aspects of the project to protect company interests.

Represent Fitness Strategy and Fitness Operations in project meetings as project lead and/or subject matter expert capacities.

Work closely with the field team to include Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Fitness Directors, Regional Educators, District Managers, Club Managers, Department Heads, club staff, and all business partners.

Other project management-related duties as assigned by management.

  1. Communication & Time Management

Produce professional and appropriate project communications and ensure that the manager, team, and the business are apprised of project activities in a timely manner.

Produce professional and appropriate internal project communications to leadership teams, and project stakeholders.

Produce professional and appropriate communications to field operators as it relates to new and existing business initiatives

Communicate progress, risks, expectations, timeline, milestones, and other key project metrics to the team and key stakeholders.

Communicate weekly on task calls to field and project teams at key milestones.

Conduct weekly calls with internal and field team to get updates and facilitate resolutions post club openings for a minimum 30 days.

Daily Phone and Email communication.

Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

High School diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.).

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

3+ years of managing multiple, parallel projects.

Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions

Some work is performed in a standard office environment without unpleasant or hazardous conditions. Work entails typical physical demands involved in office work.

Regularly required to work standard office equipment (personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).

Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.

Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.

Travel Requirement

May need to travel out of state from time to time

Overnight travel may be required, but not essential part of position

Travel may be required for assigned projects for the following but not limited to:

-- New program rollouts, market research

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc) is essential

Knowledge in fitness standards and expectations would be helpful but not essential

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to work collaboratively and independently, be flexible and handle multiple tasks.

Ability to create and revise decks/presentations quickly and frequently is a must

High skill level and ability to create presentation decks and imagery is essential

Ability to effectively manage and forecast timing of projects and required follow-up

Ability to create teams and partnerships effectively across all functions

Educational Level/Certifications

Bachelor degree

Project Management Institute (PMI) certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP)

Preferred Work Experience and Qualification

3+ years in a business analyst or project management role in a complex business environment

Health and Fitness Industry operational knowledge of a Fitness Business

Multi project experience
